But many of these new kids have never used Win 98 and have no idea how to deal with it.
I work for a non profit. I've been at this for years, but not everyone has. Yess Windows 98 and even Windows 95 still exist in the workplace. It sucks, but it is a fact, and those who have never seen it don't know how to deal with it. This is what being a Pro is all about, Tex. If you can't support it all, don't apply.
I forgot to mention, Texkonc, that we also have servers running everything from Windows to MS Server , and Linux in a couple of different flavors. The OS you installed last will be the default choice when booting.
I haven't tried, but I would imagine you might have additional problems when you install Windows or a version of Windows NT after installing XP. This is because these OS'ses use some of the same boot files. Installing Win 98 on your other drive with the XP and any other drives drives disconnected will automatically default to C:. Finally, if you have XP why bother with 98 unless you have a pressing need for it such as gaming?. Dad ,. Arie ,.
I know XP has it's own set of "problems ", as far as backward compatibility. So, I wanted to use Win2k, and NT.
I have an app that has to have either W98, or NT. It will install on Win2k, and run the 1st time, but won't boot a 2nd time unless you re-install it. I had been using Partition Magic 7, with BMagic7, but when PM7 told me that my entire 40Gig WD drive was bad, and I could still use it fine with all the other partitions on it; and I hadn't even done anything to it.
