All they are wanting to do is preview the project. This will be fine. Win7 didn't exist. Neither did 64bit PCs. Why would you expect them to be that forward compatible? You could try the Cedocida codec, but even that isn't officially rated to be totally compatible with Win7v64 though it is still updated.

Also, remember that you have to use 32 with 32 and 64 with 64, not mix and match. So make sure your 32bit codec is using 32bit Vdub , etc. VirtualDub 32 bit and 64 bit has a built in DV decoder, try using it. A coplre reaons why I tried what I did. When the fourcc dvsd was unrecognized I used directshow, but it messed up and made a 30 minute file into 8 hours for some reason.

Then I just googles searched for vfw dv codec, which brought me here to the dv section where there was a dv codec posted, as I said did not work.

For the record I am using 32 bit vdub , 32 bit avisynth. As for vdubs built in codec, that is strange becasue actually the other day i decoded the same kind of file fine without having installed it, but then the next day they stopped working. I did think it was odd and I was annoyed that it worked on day and then not the next.

Get rid of the other DV codecs Panasonic is full of bugs anyway. Install Cedocida. Problem solved. I agree. You may also have some conflict with your fourcc assignments. Make sure to remove those others first, then add Cedocida which should overwrite good assignment values. Note: the Canopus codec was designed to primarily NOT use the standard dvsd, rather their own cdvd or cdvc so that some other codec wouldn't be trying to usurp the decoding and do it wrong.
