25 stupidest moments in gaming

Justin11 Posted October 26, The Blackangel Posted October 26, Died due to being distracted. Or thinking that the Arabian horses in RDR2 actually had a brain.

Ion Storm currently holds the license for the Thief franchise, acquired through Eidos after the crash. It's harder to determine where the SS franchise lies, since it's currently sitting as "abandonware". A guess--total wild-hare guess--would be that it rests with the original distributor or reverted to Looking Glass when that group went toes. If the franchise was part of the LGS "property" when LGS blew up, then it most likely rests, by default, with Eidos or Ion who picked up most of the property.

If, however, it is homeless, then it's in abandon and it's legal status is pretty weird. I suppose that the original creator might be able to argue that it should belong to him and That annoying woman If you wanted someone complacent, you should have hit them harder in the first place. Blatant self-promotion. I suspect EA ended up with it after publishing SS2 and are holding on to it for grim death.

From what I have been able to gather the Shock license was split amongst a few creditors when LGS folded. It is rumoured that EA no longer hold their share, but it hasnt been confirmed.

Great stuff, good read. There's even a bunch of stuff here I didn't know about the games industry. I feel sorry for some of these people. And the unanswered question remains. Why did Atari make 5 Million copies of ET if they'd only sold 1. Poor Atari. I hope at least the gaming world learned a valuable lesson from their mistakes. The indudstry as a whole doesn't seem to have learned a lot from anyone else's; why should they learn anything from Atari's?

Mean of me, I know, but there are days I think "the industry" has its collective head so far up its collective, figurative backside that it's viewing the world through the view between its own tonsils. Thank you for the Shock info, David. No wonder it's in limbo. I love DN:F stuff suddenly. Have you lot been following that at all? Like every other DNF mentoion anywhere in the world the article comments become taken over by this guy CultureShock, who has a theory that DNF is essentially vapour to string along investors and sell licenses for the Duke Nukem brand.

It was simply a concession --quality over quantity and lower price --that I myself think could have been a winner if the system had more good games. The other obvious choice for a Dumb Moment would be Atari finding some small fault with a Nintendo character that supposedly was a ripoff of one of theirs, and declining to market Nintendo's NES console.

Another obvious choice would be Well, Commodore was screwed anyways D will make it in? That I guess isn't quite dumb yet, as there's still a small fraction of a chance that it'll actually see store shelves. You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to F ight or R un? Well, so far least they mentioned the E. Rend, slaughter, devour your enemies. There is no other way to survive. Somebody's complained about Test Drive's physics, for goodness sake Anyways, I'm enjoying the articles.
